About Us

Who we are

TurningLife Foundation is an India-based NGO working with children of construction workers and migrant labourers

While cities rise higher, their children often grow up on the margins — playing near open shafts, climbing debris, and picking scrap from unsafe heights just to afford a single meal.

Why We Exist

Construction workers start work early, return late, and have nowhere safe to leave their children.

So the children follow them to the site. They walk between trucks, under precarious scaffolding, and on unfinished floors.

To help their families eat, many children collect small metal pieces, wires, and nails to sell. Some get cut. Some inhale dust and fumes. Some fall.

We exist so that these children are not invisible.
We create safe, loving spaces where they are fed, educated and protected.

Our Approach

Founder’s Note

“The first time I saw a child of a construction worker climbing an unguarded stairway to pick scrap, I realised something:

This child isn’t careless. He’s hungry.

TurningLife was born from that moment — from the belief that no child should have to risk their life to eat.

Today, with support from individuals and corporates, we run centres that keep children safe, fed and learning. We’re just getting started.”
